Members of WVFD pulled together to help support one of the areas less fortunate for Christmas. The effort spearheaded by Assistant Chief Balderson asked the members of the Department to either donate toys/clothes or money to help out a young boy in the community. WVFD will invite the family to the Department and give the gifts to the boy's parent so they can take home so he can have an enjoyable Christmas morning.

The 2014 Christmas Parade in Kinsale went off without a hitch today even if it was raining. A fireman's parade is great no matter what the weather is. Thanks to Cople District VFD for invite.

The Christmas lights in the Town of Montross were hung on Sunday by WVFD just like every year. The lights are hung the Sunday after Thanksgiving and stay up until the Sunday after New Year's Day. The Lights will officially light up on Friday Dec. 5th in part of the Town of Montross Spirit Fest. After the lights are hung all the members gather back at the firehouse for breakfast and fellowship.

WVFD was toned for a two vehicle accident at the intersection of King's Hwy & Cople Hwy. Lt.22,Jones arrived on scene and confirmed two vehicle accident with one lane shut down and all occupants out of vehicles. Lt.22,Jones passed Command to Captain21,Landon who held all units on scene until vehicles were removed from roadway. Responding units WVFD Eng22, Response2, Eng51, Brush5, WDES M3, along with WCSO and VSP.

WVFD was toned out to assist CDVFD with reported structure fire. CDVFD Eng31 arrived on scene confirmed working fire in kitchen area in a single family residence. Chief3A,Padgett took command and reported two in with a quick knock down of fire. WVFD's first arriving unit Eng51 was assigned to overhaul while other units were placed in staging. After a lengthy overhaul Eng51 was released. Units on scene CDVFD Eng31, Tnk3, Eng6, Tnk6, WVFD Eng51, Eng21, Tnk2, WCVRS 23 and units from Callao VFD.

WVFD took three units to the 2014 Urbanna Fireman's Parade on Friday night and came home with three trophies. Engine51 came home with 1st place 1500gpm and over. Brush5 came away with 2nd place in Brush truck class. Engine21 won 3rd place 1250gpm. It was a great night with great food, nice looking trucks, and a great parade.

WVFD was dispatched for smoke investigation in the Cabin Point area. Lt.5,A.Pitts arrived on scene to find a small grass fire in a Marsh next to some homes putting off heavy smoke. Command held with Eng51, Brush5, Tanker2 and returned all others. Other units responding to call were CDVFD Tanker3, Attack6, and WVFD Brush2.
