Tuesday, October 7, 2014 12:53hrs WVFD was dispatched to assist CDVFD with a small brush fire on Beale's Mill Road off Cople Highway. WVFD units on scene were Brush5, Brush2, and Tanker2.

Sunday, October 5, 2014  Westmoreland VFD and Northern Neck Chevrolet would like to congratulate Ms. Barbara Packett of Montross,Va. on winning the 2014 Chevrolet Spark. The department would like to THANK everyone who bought a ticket and for supporting the WVFD. Vehicle Extrication Training

Sunday, September 28, 2014 12:00hrs Monthly training for WVFD for Sept. was on vehicle extrication with emphasis on Rescue-Jacks.

     



 

LZ setup for medical flyout

Friday, September 19, 2014 12:35hrs WVFD was dispatched for a medical call and once on scene Response2 requested a flyout. Brush5 setup LZ and MedStar3 was used to fly patient out of area.

     



 

Car into Pond on Neenah Road

Friday, September 19, 2014 01:21hrs WVFD was dispatched to Neenah Road in the area of the Pond for a car into the water. Dispatch reported that all three occupants were out of vehicle but unsure of injuries. Eng22, Response2, Brush5 arrived on scene and started patient care on the three occupants. One was determined to be needed to be flown out of area while other two were ground transported. Eng21 was used as ground contact at LZ. Other units on scene were WCSO, one WCVRS unit, and two MVRS units.

Boats On Shore

Sunday, September 14, 2014 12:12pm WVFD was dispatched for a report of a boat in distress off of Albany Farm. Boat5 responded with 3 and Response2 with 2 went to Albany Farm location. Boat5 arrived on scene and found two small outboard motor boats washed ashore. No one was around and coolers and other supplies had been taken out of boats and placed on shore. VMRC arrived on scene and took over scene. Boat5 and Response2 returned to service.

     



 

9/11 Anniversary

Tuesday, September 9, 2014  As another anniversary of 9/11 comes to past let's all take a few minutes and pray not only for the 343, but for everyone that died that horrible day and for the families of lost ones.

     



 

It's Not All About Fighting Fires

Friday, September 5, 2014 19:00hrs Being a member of a Volunteer fire department is not just running 911 calls. To help pay for all the tools and gear that is required to do our jobs we still need to do an occasional BINGO night at the firehouse. Thanks to the community who came out and supported us.
