WVFD and MVRS responded to a single vehicle accident with driver out of vehicle but complaining of back pain. After fully packaging patient with C-collar and backboard and loading into MVRS31 the scene was turned over to law enforcement. Responding units Eng22, Res2, Eng51, MVRS31, and WCSO.

Not so fun job of being in the fire department is the yearly hose testing. This is when ever piece of hose is pulled off each truck and laid out and tested at 250psi for 5 minutes. You then drain it all and repack it back onto the trucks. It is very labor intense but it is required to ensure that all the hose is up to it's qualifications. But even being time and labor intense, it's a time for the guys and girls to get out and enjoy working together and sharing the BROTHERHOOD.

After a long day of testing hose on 4 trucks the gang heads to Angelo's for some great food and laughs. It's times like this that all it does is bring the family of firefighters closer to each other.

WVFD would like to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed a fun night of Bingo on Friday night. It was great to see the regulars as well as new comers. A single vehicle accident occurred on King's Hwy at the Park&Ride with one person being injured and transported to the hospital. Units on scene were Eng.22, Utility2, Brush5, MVRS M31, and WCSO deputy.

WVFD and WDES M3 were dispatched to a two vehicle accident on King's Hwy at intersection of Cople Hwy. WDES M2 was requested to assist since three patients would be needed to be transported. WVFD crew members assisted in packaging patients and securing the vehicles and blocking traffic while the Medics took care of patients. Eng22 returned in service after vehicles were removed from roadway.

Here it is March 16th and AGAIN the Northern Neck is under a WINTER STORM WARNING. This warning is in effect from Mar. 16, 2014 20:00 EDT until Mar.17,2014 17:00 EDT. Hazards include snow and sleet, accumulations 3 to 6 inches of snow and sleet, temperatures upper 20s to lower 30s, winds northeast 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH. The heaviest snow is expected tonight into Monday morning. Stay tune to your local weather station for further updates to this March storm. Please stay off the roads as much as possible to allow VDOT to do their job and to keep our area's first responders safe off the roads. If an emergency should occur call your local 911 and be patient to their response times due to the poor road conditions. Stay Safe.

WVFD and WDES M3 were dispatched to a accident on Kings Hwy in the Town of Montross. Arriving units found driver out of vehicle complaining of no injuries, pole broke and wires down. Kings Hwy was closed until wire was determined to be dead and removed. One lane of Kings Hwy reopened and scene left to WCSO units.
