WVFD would like to remind everyone that just because that ice on the pond or river looks frozen it might just not be frozen enough. Ice that has snow on it is weak and could give away under the weight of a person. Be mindful of your pets and keep them away from the ice also. If you plan to ice skate or do any other sport on the ice have a throw rope with a life ring nearby just in case. If the ice starts to crack lay flat and slide across the ice to the shore. WVFD recommends everyone to STAY OFF THE ICE AT ALL TIMES it's not worth getting hurt or worst. Be safe out there.
