Wednesday, May 1, 2013 WVFD placed in service their new Response 2. A 2012 Ford F-250 4wheel drive 4 door crew cab with a enclosed slide out tray under a cap with side opening doors. Unit is set up to run EMS calls and to be used as a Command Center.

Monday, April 1, 2013 16:09hrs WVFD was dispatched to a field fire on Turkey Trot Rd, in Richmond County. Appox, two acres burn of pasture grass. Units responding from WVFD were Brush2, Tanker2, Brush5 and from Richmond County were Tanker3,Engine3, Tanker1, and Richmond County Squad.

Sunday, March 24, 2013 3:00pm The 2013 WVFD Annual Easter Egg Hunt was held on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 3:00pm. The event was hosted by the WVFD Auxiliary. Event included fire truck rides, crafts for the children, visit with the Easter Bunny, and Easter Egg Hunt. The Event was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Thursday, March 21, 2013 7:30pm Westmoreland VFD's active lifetime member Billy Sydnor celebrated 50 years of service tonight. Sydnor has held all operations position except for Chief and has never missed a monthly meeting for those 50 years. He is still very active in the Department as a driver operator, attending work nights, and meetings.The Department wants to say THANK YOU to Sydnor for his dedication.

Thursday, March 14, 2013 03:46 WVFD and WVRS were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover in the 800 block of Cople Hwy. Engine22 arrived on scene to find one patient out of the vehicle complaining of minor injuries. Patient was packaged and loaded into Res22 for transport to RTH. Engine51, Car2, Response2, and WCSO were also on seen.
Monday, March 11, 2013 14:36 WVFD and WDES Medic2 were dispatched to the 3400 block of Neenah Road for an overturned vehicle with all occupants out of vehicle. Engine22 arrived on scene to find an overturned pickup on it's roof blocking both lanes and all occupants out and complaining of no injuries. Response2, Brush5, Va.State Police and WCSO also worked the scene.
